Covenant Affirmations

Community Covenant Church, as a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC), is a non-creedal Church. This means that we hold to Scripture as our highest defining document over anything else, including the Creeds. However, the Evangelical Covenant Church has six affirmations that we use to mark the unique aspects of our denomination, based on the history and experience of our denomination.

1. We affirm the centrality of the word of God.
2. We affirm the necessity of new birth.
3. We affirm a conscious dependence on the Holy Spirit.
4. We affirm a commitment to the whole mission of the church.
5. We affirm the church as a fellowship of believers.
6. We affirm the reality of freedom in Christ.
